Easy Meatball Appetizers

1. 3-Ingredient Grape Jelly Meatballs

These sweet and savory Grape Jelly Meatballs are an easy appetizer for any occasion. A few simple ingredients – THREE to be exact, and very little prep, make them perfect for holidays and game days

Ingredients  

  • 26 ounces frozen bite size meatballs
  • 18 ounces grape jelly I use grape jam, but either is fine
  • 12 ounces Chili Sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce optional, but strongly suggested

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a slow cooker and stir well.
  • Set slow cooker to low, cover, and cook for 3-4 hours. Stir occasionally.
  • To serve, set slow cooker to warm. Serve garnished with chopped green onions or freshly chopped parsley. Can be served alone as an appetizer or over rice for a main dish for six people.

  • 14 ounces whole cranberry sauce can substitute grape jelly
  • 12 ounces Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons dark brown sugar

Instructions

  • Place the frozen meatballs into a slow cooker set on low heat.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Pour over meatballs.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. To serve, set slow cooker to warm. Serve garnished with chopped green onions.

3. Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Meatballs are perfect for your next get-together! With a few simple ingredients and little prep, these meatballs are a perfect appetizer for game days and holiday parties!

Ingredients 

  • 28 ounces frozen bite size meatballs
  • 20 ounces pineapple chunks drained

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch

Instructions

  • Place the brown sugar, water, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce and corn starch into a slow cooker and mix well. Add the meatballs and pineapple and stir well to coat.
  • Set slow cooker to high, cover, and cook for 3 hours. Stir occasionally.
  • To serve, set slow cooker to warm. Can be served alone as an appetizer or over rice for a main dish for six people.

Notes

  • If sauce should become to hot and the sides of the pot begin to burn, turn the heat down to low the last half hour or so of cooking.
