Ingredients
- 2 lbs yellow potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
- 12 oz smoked turkey sausage, sliced (or any smoked sausage)
- 2 cans cut green beans (14.5 oz each), drained
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix (0.6 oz)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika or regular paprika
Instructions
Layering the Ingredients
Place the quartered potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle them evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Add the diced onion and gently toss to coat the potatoes with the seasonings.
Adding the Remaining Ingredients
Layer the sliced smoked sausage over the seasoned potatoes. Add the drained green beans on top, then sprinkle the Italian dressing seasoning mix evenly across the entire dish.
Place the stick of butter on top of all the ingredients. Do not stir at this stage.
Cooking
Cover the slow cooker and cook:
- On low for 6 to 7 hours, or
- On high for 3 to 4 hours
Cook until the potatoes are fork-tender and all the flavors are well combined.
Finishing and Serving
Gently stir everything before serving to distribute the melted butter and seasoning evenly. Serve warm as a satisfying main dish or a hearty side, optionally with crusty bread.
